O Mu’adh! By Allah I love you, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer

Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni 'ibadatika

Mu’adh (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) took hold of my hand and said, “O Mu’adh! By Allah I love you, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer:

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ، وَشُكْرِكَ، وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
“Allâhumma a’innî alâ dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni ‘ibâdatika
O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner”

Glory is to You O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and Exalted is Your Majesty. There is none worthy of worship but You.

Allaahumma laa maani’a limaa a’tayt (O Allaah no one can hold back what You give)

Allahumma laa mania limaa atayt

AL-BUKHAAREE reported (no.844): “Muhammad ibn Yoosuf narrated to us, saying: Sufyaan narrated to us: from `Abdul-Malik ibn `Umayr: from Warraad-the scribe of al-Mugheerah ibn Shu`bah who said: al-Mugheerah dictated to me in a letter to Mu`aawiyah that the Prophet  صلى الله عليه و سلم  used to say after every Obligatory Prayer:

La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shayin qadeer, allahumma la mani’a lima a’tayt, wa la mu’tiya lima mana’t, wala yanfa’u thal-jaddi minkal-jad

None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, alone, having no partner. Sovereignty is His and all praise is for Him, and He has full power over everything. O Allaah no one can hold back what You give, and no one can give what You hold back, and no one’s riches can benefit them against You.

The time Sayyidah Aaishah laughed such that her head fell into the lap of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

From Urwah that Aaishah said, “When I saw that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was in a pleasant mood I said, ‘O Prophet of Allaah! Supplicate to Allaah for me.’

He said, ‘O Allaah! Forgive Aaishah her sins of the past and the future and [any sins] she has kept hidden and what she has made public.’

So Aaishah laughed until her head fell into the lap of the Prophet of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم due to her laughter.

So he said, ‘Does my supplication please you?’

So she replied, ‘And why shouldn’t your supplication please me?’

So he said, ‘By Allaah! It is my supplication [which I make] for my nation in every prayer.’”

Making Dua in Sujood that Allaah teaches you the Qur’an

Making Dua (supplication) in Sujood (prostration) that Allaah teaches you the Qur’an
Shaykh Abdur-Rahman al-Ajlaan

Shaykh Abdur-Rahman al-Ajlaan –

Question:

Is it correct for me to make Dua (supplication) to Allaah (Azza wa Jal) while I am prostrating that He teaches me the Noble Qur’an?

Answer:
Yes, O my brother.

Ask Allaah while you are prostrating for what you would love from the goodness of this world and the next world.

As for memorising the Qur’an then this is from the goodness of the next world. It is something by which the good deeds will be increased.

So, ask Allaah for this because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “As for the bowing then glorify the Lord in it, as for the prostration do a lot of praying in it because it is being worthy of answered for you, meaning it is suitable that it will be answered for you.

And the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The closest the slave is to his Lord is when he is prostrating.”

So, make Dua a lot, ask Allaah for what you would love, from the goodness of this world and the next world.

The below was taken from Fatwas of Nur `Ala Al-Darb  alifta.net

The majority of scholars held the view that this Du`a’ (supplication) falls under the category of stressed Sunnah. It was been reported on the authority of Tawus, one of the great Tabi`un (Followers, the generation after the Companions of the Prophet) that this Du`a’ is obligatory. Tawus is also reported to have ordered his son to repeat his Salah when he knew that he did not recite this Du`a’. This indicates that such Du`a’ is a stressed Sunnah, which the Mu’min should not miss in obligatory or voluntary Salah.

People are subject to trials in their lives and after death. One may commit sins or Bid`ah (innovation in Islam), or be exposed to Kufr (disbelief) in Allah’s Religion. One might be tempted with wealth, lusts, sins, or evil company, and commit acts which displease Allah, whether it be Kufr, Bid`ah, or sins during their lives or at their death. We ask Allah to grant us protection from it. One may be tested with the trial of Al-Masih-ul-Dajjal if they live during the time when he appears. Al-Masih-ul-Dajjal will appear at the end of time, claiming to be a prophet and lord of all creation. Many people will follow him. We seek refuge with Allah from this. They will be doomed because of their following him. One should ask the Lord to protect them from these trials, because they do not know whether they will be saved or not. Therefore, one must ask Allah to protect them from the torment of Hellfire, the punishment of the grave, the trials of life and death and the trial of Al-Masih-ul-Dajjal. Everyone is in need of this Du`a’ so that they will not be tried in their life or upon dying; and so that they will not experience the trial of Al-Masih-ul-Dajjal if they happen to live at the time when he appears. We ask Allah to save us from this.
