O Allah , separate me from my sins as You have separated the East from the West

July 14, 2017 Comments off

Du’a at the start of the prayer Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger ﷺ used to keep silent between the Takbir and the recitation of Qur'an and that interval of silence used to be a short one. I said to the Prophetﷺ “May my parents be sacrificed for you! What do you say in the pause between Takbir and recitation?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "I say,  اللَّهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ، اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ، كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الْأَ بْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْمَاءِ وَالْبَرَدِ Allaahumma baa'id baynee wa bayna khataayaaya kamaa baa'adta baynal-mashriqi walmaghribi, Allaahumma naqqinee min khataayaaya kamaa yunaqqath-thawbul-'abyadhu minad-danasi, Allaahum-maghsilnee min khataayaaya, bith-thalji walmaa'i walbarad O Allah , separate me from my sins as You have separated the East from the West. O Allah, cleanse me of my transgressions as the white garment is cleansed of stains . O Allah , wash away my sins with ice and water and frost. Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaarakasmuka

Dua at the start of the prayer

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) started Salat he would say:

سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

Glory is to You O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and Exalted is Your Majesty. There is none worthy of worship but You.

Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaarakasmuka, wa ta’aalaa jadduka, wa laa ‘ilaaha ghayruka.

Abu Dawud 775, Ibn Majah 806, An-Nasa’I 899, At-Tirmithi 283. See Al-Albani, Sahih At-Tirmithi 1/77 and Sahih Ibn Majah 1/135.

Allaahumma laa maani’a limaa a’tayt (O Allaah no one can hold back what You give)

Allahumma laa mania limaa atayt

AL-BUKHAAREE reported (no.844): “Muhammad ibn Yoosuf narrated to us, saying: Sufyaan narrated to us: from `Abdul-Malik ibn `Umayr: from Warraad-the scribe of al-Mugheerah ibn Shu`bah who said: al-Mugheerah dictated to me in a letter to Mu`aawiyah that the Prophet  صلى الله عليه و سلم  used to say after every Obligatory Prayer:

La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shayin qadeer, allahumma la mani’a lima a’tayt, wa la mu’tiya lima mana’t, wala yanfa’u thal-jaddi minkal-jad

None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, alone, having no partner. Sovereignty is His and all praise is for Him, and He has full power over everything. O Allaah no one can hold back what You give, and no one can give what You hold back, and no one’s riches can benefit them against You.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that ‘Aishah said:

“I noticed the Prophet (ﷺ) was not there one night, so I started looking for him with my hand. My hand touched his feet and they were held upright, and he was prostrating and saying: ‘I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot praise You enough, You are as You have praised yourself.'”

The time Sayyidah Aaishah laughed such that her head fell into the lap of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

February 1, 2012 Comments off

From Urwah that Aaishah said, “When I saw that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was in a pleasant mood I said, ‘O Prophet of Allaah! Supplicate to Allaah for me.’

He said, ‘O Allaah! Forgive Aaishah her sins of the past and the future and [any sins] she has kept hidden and what she has made public.’

So Aaishah laughed until her head fell into the lap of the Prophet of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم due to her laughter.

So he said, ‘Does my supplication please you?’

So she replied, ‘And why shouldn’t your supplication please me?’

So he said, ‘By Allaah! It is my supplication [which I make] for my nation in every prayer.’”
